Leo was humanely euthanized in July (2007).
He is now free of his damaged body.
Leo came to us in June of 2007, as a 2-year old. We suspected abuse but had no proof. Leo dragged his right hind leg, and his left stifle was calcified and damaged as well. The vet also felt he had neurological problems.
Leo had never been trained or ridden. He had spent his entire life in a stall.
When introduced to the herd he ran as far away as he possibly could and stayed there! However, with Legacy's tutoring, he was soon part of the herd and was allowed to eat with the group. He also came to realize that people were not all bad.
We felt it best to release Leo from his damaged body, and we know he is now at peace and whole, with his friend Legacy.
